4 Victims Shot at Howe Park – Unauthorized Event Descends into Chaos





Saturday night, an unapproved gathering of an estimated several hundred individuals at Howe Community Park in Sacramento in Sacramento's Arden-Arcade neighborhood became the scene of a shooting when 20 to 25 gunshots were fired as law enforcement officers were attempting to dispersing the crowd.

How Events Unfolded

At approximately 6:30 PM, the Sacramento County law enforcement received calls involving persons reportedly carrying concealed firearms at the Arden-Arcade park. A second caller advised of a possible altercation and individuals fleeing the scene.

An airship was dispatched and conducted an aerial search but did not locate any ongoing altercation.

Despite this, a large crowd had collected at the park for what authorities described as an unlawful gathering. Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies surrounded the park, switched on their vehicle lights, and took about 15 minutes ordering the crowd to disperse using public address systems.

As officers worked to clear the park, upwards of 20 gunshots filled the night air — sending hundreds of people running in every direction.

Shooting Victims

Four shooting victims — one woman and three male victims, website all young adults in check here their 20s — were taken to nearby hospitals. Two were treated for immediate injuries, one victim had moderate injuries, and one with minor injuries. All four were listed as stable. At the Scene

The incident occurred on the Cottage Way corridor side of the park near the nearby Home Depot at the 2200 block of Howe Avenue. The Home Depot store was briefly placed on lockdown. Additional spent casings were identified on Cottage Way, with projectile damage found in the wrought iron fencing surrounding the Home Depot — indicating a shooter who fired southward from along Cottage Way toward the Home Depot parking lot. The Suspect Vehicle

Through scanner communications, it was indicated that a suspect car — identified website as a Kia — was detained in Solano County with four detainees. Sacramento County Sheriff's units were en route to collect the suspects and transport them back to Sacramento County. Footage confirmed two gunmen were present.
